Reporting rules for digital platforms from 1 January 2024

New rules starting from 1 January 2024 will require digital platforms (software that allows sellers to be connected to users for relevant services or the sale of goods) in the UK to collect and verify information about sellers using their platforms. Platforms will have to report this information to HMRC..

Platforms also have to provide sellers with a copy of the information they sent to HMRC..

The first reports are due by 31 January 2025
